Ahhh, Spring…the first thing that comes to my mind when I think of Spring is the beautiful old magnolia tree that was in my backyard. It was there when we bought the house, over 30 years ago, and grew over time. Its beauty only increased as the years went by, as the tree grew bigger, fuller. The scent of its blossoms would fill the house on breezy spring days. I’ve missed that tree now that I moved.
I love Spring – it’s my favorite season. The world wakens from its winter hibernation with nature’s colors bursting, songbirds serenading, sun beaming warmly upon us, rain showers cleansing the air and land.
The snow melts, grass and foliage begin to grow, streams and rivers come to life. I could sit by the creek soaking up the sights and sounds all day long.
Spring is a time of birth. It’s an exciting time, full of energy, ambition, renewed dreams. And babies. It’s also “kitten season” – shelters and rescues are overflowing with the little ones. (Just a note, fosters are desperately needed! Have you ever considered being a foster home?)
Spring is the perfect time to get started on a better fitness routine – like taking your dog for some good, long walks. It’s been proven that walking your dog is healthy for your heart, and your mental as well as physical condition. And it’s uber-beneficial for your dog in just as many ways.
Not to mention, getting out and soaking up some of that glorious sunshine does wonders for your emotional well-being. And your dog’s!
(Make it even more worthwhile – download the Walk For A Dog app and help your local shelter/rescue!)
Spring is a time when we all start getting out and about, doing more activities outdoors. Often that includes our family and friends. Togetherness – whether it’s gardening, walking/biking/hiking, picnicking, camping, or ball games – there’s something so special about it.
Spring is just a fabulous time of year, for so many reasons. Mostly, though, because it involves spending time with those who mean the most to us. CindyLu and I make the most of this time of year – and we create a lot of beautiful memories enjoying it.
Happy Spring from CindyLu ‘n’ me!
“Spring” is the theme for this week’s #52Snapshots of Life challenge hosted by The Lazy Pit Bull; enjoy more photographic interpretations below –
Very nice spring pictures! The egg nest photo is especially compelling, the color almost unreal. And I agree about the sunshine doing wonders for emotional well being. It feels like when the sun sneaks out that everyone is a little…nicer. :->
I snuck that photo of the eggs in the nest by reaching in through branches of my lilac bush! LOL Couldn’t even tell what I was snapping, so it was quite a surprise to see what the camera held. You’re right – everyone does seem to have higher spirits (and energy!) once the sun is back 🙂
Wow those are beautiful photos! Looks nice where you are!
Thank you, Kim! I didn’t take all these photos this week/year, so don’t be fooled….we’re still struggling to get Spring going here LOL
Wow, gorgeous pics and lovely post, Kim! Wish we had a little more spring beauty around here. One of these days…
Soon, Miss Destiny, soon….keep the faith! 🙂
Our favorite spring thing is the lilacs. It is the only time of year when we go for walks and have to stop and wait for Mom to finish sniffing! She can’t seem to get enough!
Oh my, your mom and mine both! The scent of lilacs in the air is surely what really wakes up the Earth from its winter nap (it sure gets our attention!)
Gorgeous photos! Those eggs are such a beautiful color! We keeping switching between spring weather and super cold days, so we haven’t gotten out too much, but looking forward to it! Hoping to make a trip into DC to see the beautiful cherry blossoms too.
Thanks, Jessica! I really love the color of the eggs, too, it’s so rich (and a cool shade). Oh, am I jelly – DC and the cherry blossoms?? Sure hope you can go, and can’t wait to see the pics of them!
Beautiful photos! It looks like spring is well underway where you are! We aren’t so lucky. I’m sure that we will start seeing things come back to life in the next month or so.
Spring isn’t well underway here, either – these are mostly from last Spring. When it was actually “Spring” outside LOL We’re hanging on to hopes we’ll get it soon here, too. Keep the faith 😉
I knew from your thumbnail that I was going to love this post but it gave me a bigger smile than I expected. Thank you!
Aw, thanks! Happy to brighten your day 🙂
