By now you’ve surely heard of the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge. No doubt you’ve seen plenty of your friends’ videos, dumping ice water on their heads. Well, I’ve been challenged by our good friend Maggie Marton to a pet-friendly version – the Dog Park Challenge. Girl, I’m game!
Maggie poured a bucket of new dog toys over her head, then donated to ALS as others with the ice bucket challenge do. But, she also donated the toys to a local rescue. You can watch her here at OhMyDog! And then she challenged me to do the same.
Well…here goes, and I’ve added a little twist:
My friends, I challenge you to the Dog Park Challenge! Help fund a cure for ALS and help the homeless pets in your town. I’m donating these toys to Almost Home Foundation, in honor of all the babies they’ve rescued from Pine Ridge Reservation. It’s a small thing to do, really, but sometimes small things can add up to a lot.

And speaking of…I challenge you to give $1 to the Almost Home Foundation’s Puppy and Kitten Fund, or to a local rescue of your choice. $1 (or even $5) is a small thing, for sure, but many dollars add up to – well, many dollars. And those can help many babies get a good start in life.
Double your dollars! A donor will match your donations, up to a total of $500.
What are you waiting for? Click through now, help feed these hungry little mouths!
A Special Thanks to GRAHAM’S PET DEPOT in Elk Grove Village, IL, who waved all profit on these toys for the benefit of our AHF babies. The folks at Graham’s really rock – they’re CindyLu’s favorite store! (If you’re ever in the area, stop in and tell them CindyLu sent you!)
Here’s wishing the day we’re ALS-free comes soon, and a Forever Home for all pets in need of one…
