Annual Almost Home Foundation Holiday Event

Since its first year in operation, 2005, Almost Home Foundation has held an annual holiday party that is without a doubt THE event of the year. Dinner, dancing, entertainment, an incredible auction, and the gathering of animal lovers under one roof – you can’t beat that. This year will surely be better than ever. And the party’s tomorrow night!

I’ve attended these holiday parties in the past, and had such a good time I just didn’t want the night to be over. From volunteers to adopters to people who just happen to care a bunch about homeless pets, the gala is full of the most wonderful people. And it’s the one and only night of the year that many who attend are away from animals – no pets are allowed, for this one night.

All proceeds from the event, just like everything else Almost Home Foundation does, go directly and completely to the dogs and cats AHF seeks to help. Not a dime, not a friggin’ penny, goes to anything or anyone else. The holiday party is a huge event, and the biggest fundraiser of the year.

I don’t even know how many dogs and cats AHF has found homes for now, but as of last year the count was 7,000. Just try to imagine that many animals, all tucked away cozy in loving homes now…no longer sitting in cold shelters, on death row, out on the cruel streets, or mistreated by a puppy mill or hoarder. Makes you feel all warm and fuzzy, doesn’t it?

So if you’re in the Chicagoland area, do yourself a favor while doing a great deed for homeless animals – attend Almost Home Foundation’s 8th Annual Gala. You’ll be so glad you did. And thousands of woofs and purrs will thank you for it.
