Adopted!
Just look into Smokey’s eyes. What do you see? What do you feel? This boy is a gorgeous grey tabby, young yet with the sweet calmness that usually comes with later years. He is a sensitive soul, yet loves people and attention. Smokey is a boy who is looking for someone to take him home with them.

Hi, my name is Smokey. Don’t you just love my “deer in the headlights” look? I ALWAYS look surprised. Right now, I’m pretty surprised that I don’t have a forever home and family! I’m a really nice cat and I love people. I’m calm and well-behaved, too. And check out my last photo here–can’t you tell how much I love being gently petted? It feels great!
What else should you know about me? Well, it’s very easy to overwhelm me. I like to take things slow. After all, slow and steady wins the race, right? I sure think so! I’m very curious, so it doesn’t take long for me to get interested in new things. Oh, and I love those feather-on-a-stick toys, so you should always keep one on hand.
I’m wide-eyed, curious, and very special. I’m just waiting for somebody to scoop me up and take me home!
I was born in October 2010 and am neutered, microchipped, litterbox trained, and fully vaccinated. If you’re interested in adopting me (and I sure hope you are!), please contact my foster home at cats@almosthomefoundation.org. Hope to hear from you soon!
I could look at those soulful eyes all day long! What about you? What do you see?

If you or someone you know are in the Chicagoland area and interested in meeting Smokey, he’s patiently waiting for you at Almost Home Foundation.

Hi there, Kim. This is my first time here, I believe, in checking out your site and commenting. I admire your cause in helping people adopt and rescue animals. I’m a big animal lover, myself. I’ve grown up with cats all my life and couple dogs in the past.
I’ve got a redhaired tabby named Victor. He got the name because it looks like he has a “V” on his forehead.
That cat, Smokey, is a perty kitty, for sure. He seems like he would be a lot of fun, too. I would adopt more cats but ol’ Victor likes to have the run of the house for himself. I learned that the hard way.
Take care and Merry Christmas, Kim.

Hi, Kelly! How wonderful to have you visit here. Victor sounds like the ultimate kitty; we’re familiar with ones who prefer to be only children, so we understand well.
Thank you, and a big scritchin’ to Victor from us! Merry Christmaas to you, too:)
