Sebastian |
Awhile back I wrote about a sweet, adorable boy named Sebastian, in need of a home. (Weebles Wobble But They Don’t Fall Down), . Sebastian has a not-so-common physical trait, in that he gets very unsteady on his feet whenever he’s stressed. His nervous system was damaged just enough to cause this. Although it’s just a remnant of a horrible and often fatal disease, panleukemia, that he bravely won the fight over, it marks him as a very unusual kitty. Sebastian is the most wonderful cat you could meet, with a sweet and easygoing disposition and trusting nature. He is one with a gentle spirit.
But he is a black cat – an adult black cat. So many black cats sit unadopted, and he has been no exception. It breaks my heart that he is still waiting for a home of his own; he is safe in a foster home, but I believe the animals know the difference. They understand it’s supposed to be temporary, and it leaves them in waiting-mode. Limbo.
And now we have a sequel, a second installment if you will, of “Weebles Wobble But They Don’t Fall Down”. I introduce you to Weeble, affectionately called Weebie in his foster home. This is what his foster mom says:
Countless cats come through AHF foster homes every year. Every single one is special in some unique way…and every now and then, one shows up and just stops everyone in their tracks. Last spring, one of these “showstoppers” quietly arrived in our care. He was a seemingly ordinary black kitten with huge pumpkin-orange eyes and an extra-long tail. Later, he was named Weeble. Without a doubt, Weeble has a very special story…and a personality to match.

Weeble |
“Weebles wobble but they don’t fall down” is definitely the tune this kitty sings to! Weeble certainly wobbles as he goes about his day—but never once has he actually fallen down. In fact, nothing gets Weeble down! He’s the kitty who just keeps going no matter what the obstacle. He loves to run and play. Always the friendly one, he makes friends with people and other cats all day long. He is very sweet and gentle, and a big fan of being held and petted. Endlessly endearing, he couldn’t be more cuddly and lovable!
There is something very graceful about the way Weeble rubs against people’s legs and weaves around their ankles. It’s enough to make even the hardest of hearts instantly melt! Being with Weeble softens the heart, inspires the soul, and leaves everyone wondering how one little cat could have such an effect on them.
These boys and many other wonderful black cats are hoping to be Home for the holidays – at

Weeble is beautiful. Very stunning eyes. I really hope he finds a forever home. Your post is written with so much warmth! And I love the name of the rescue: Almost Home!
Have a nice day.
Joan & Jane Austen Eyre
Hi Y’all,
My Humans told me they once had a black kitty with white paws and chest. A horse accidently stepped on his head when he was a wee kitten, but he survived.
They nursed him to health and though he always walked funny and held his head lopsided, he became one of many favorite critters to share their lives.
I’m sure Weeble will wooble into someones heart soon.
Hawk aka BrownDog
Thank you Joan! And Hawk – oh, my! That sounds so horrible what happened, and yet such a happy ending to the story, that favorite little guy of yours. Sometimes the wobbly ones are simply the best.
