Hi! Happy Friendly Friday! I usually have Friday Fun Furries, but today is different. First, because it’s Blog the Change. Hence my post about pitbulls, a subject that I’m sensitive about, but need to overcome that and DO something about it. Secondly, it’s the first ever Friendly Friday, through Pet Blogs United, which I’m thinking is a really cool idea.
So the question is, what is my favorite blog? That one’s easy. Hands down, I love Pawcurious, by Dr. V. You can find her blog here – Pawcurious. I don’t remember how I first came upon her blog, it was probably one of those things where it’s through this one that was through that one sort of thing. The first post I read of hers was really interesting, and she had me hooked once I read through a few more of her posts. Who in their right (sane) mind, and working as a vet no less, would actually use Barbie dolls (and Ken) as mock-ups for her illustrations? Well, Dr. V. does, and it’s hysterical.
She has the greatest sense of humor, yet not irreverent, in discussing her daily happenings with animals and their people. This is a woman I’d love to have lunch with. She is intelligent, witty, compassionate – and funny. When I need a pick-me-up, when I’m feeling kinda glum and could use a dose of laughter, I just head over to Pawcurious and read some of her older posts. Heaven knows how many I’ve already read, let’s just say I’ve needed a lighter moment quite a bit these days.
As a vet, Dr. V. is a professional. She is knowledgeable, with a viewpoint from the other side of the examining table as well. And yet, she’s also a wife, mother, mom to two dogs and a cat – a real person. Obviously, she can’t be doling out medical advice via the web, but her posts are still informative and enlightening. Without a doubt, she is my favorite blogger. Oh, and….she’s one of the driving forces behind BlogPaws, and Blog the Change for Animals.
You have to check out her site; make sure you enjoy the Dr. Barbie sets, they’re priceless. I have one question – where does this woman find the time to do all that she does?
