Sebastian is a young man who’s been through quite a bit. As a kitten, he was stricken with panleukemia – a serious disease that very often is fatal. He overcame the illness, but has a few residual effects from it. His nervous system was affected by it, when he is stressed his body quivers and shakes, he sometimes has a hard time standing and walking. That’s only during periods of great stress, however. at other times his nerves are not affected and you would never know he overcame such a disease.
He thought his lucky day had come when he was adopted along with his sister, only for that family to soon reject him, sending him back. This must have been especially hard for Sebastian, his sister was always looking out for him, protecting him, his perfect companion. Now he is alone, waiting once again for a home of his own. The word lovebug must have been invented to describe this little fellow — he is so very, very loving, sweet, and gentle. His purrs fill the room with a comforting sound, he loves to be petted, held and to sit by you. He knows what is important, and he knows to treasure this life he’s been granted. He is truly a hidden treasure in black fur!
I’ve spent time with Sebastian, I can personally attest to his loving, sweet nature. As a black kitty, and one who falls into the category of “special needs” (although he doesn’t have any needs, other than love and understanding), he has two strikes against him for the possibilities of adoption. It’s sad, because what people don’t realize is what an amazing gem they’re denying themselves by not considering him!
He is available through Almost Home Foundation . For details or to visit or sponsor him, just go to the website, or Petfinder.com
